Dynamo - real name Steven Frayne - was snapped 1,000ft above the ground at the top of The Shard in London.
But some pictures snapped from stunned bystanders below appear to show he may have had a little help, with shadows of possible wires just about visible.
This afternoon the 31-year-old posted a picture on his Twitter accounting saying 'the view is great from up here' and invited people to 'look up'.
The remarkable stunt is reminiscent of Frenchman Philippe Petit's famous wirewalk between the Twin Towers - famously celebrated in the 2008 film Man on Wire.
The stunt has certainly attracted attention, with eagle eyed fans posting their own pictures on Twitter.
The magician, who works with the children's charity Variety, had invited some of the children they support to meet him at The View from The Shard before carrying out the incredible piece of magic.
The Shard is an 87-storey skyscraper that was opened to the public in February last year. At 1,004ft it is the tallest building in the European Union, with 72 floors and a viewing gallery at the top.
Frayne is best known for his TV show Dynamo: Magician Impossible, which showcases his incredible illusions
The levitation was filmed for the new series, which starts on Watch September 4.
Earlier this month Frayne announced that the fourth series of Dynamo: Magician Impossible will be the last, with the Bradford-born trickster set to make the move into the live arena.
